Aother Market Milestone

Market Volunteer Sheila the Great and Market Manager Robin Crowder

August 12th marks our dear friend and market managers last day. Robin Crowder, after 6 years of amazing service is leaving us. I came to be on the Farmers Market board in November of 2001 at the encouragement of another market friend and it was that board that had the great pleasure of hiring Robin as our new manager. She was recently back to Bellingham from living on the east coast, she was a new mom and she was like a breath of fresh air for the market. She has committed herself to the market community in a way that has touched everyone. We are a different group than we were 6 and half years ago. We are more cohesive, cooperative and most importantly our businesses have grown as a result of Robins endless energy. The Market is better known, better outfitted and more fun than ever.

Personally I am going to miss Robin terribly. I have enjoyed working with her on the marketing materials for all these years, she has inspired me, she has made me want to work just a bit harder. Of course the Market will be fine, Robin has laid amazing groundwork for those who will follow and for some crazy reason the market really inspires peoples to give more and do more.

Come on down and wish Robin well. Don't hold back the tears either, I for one am letting them flow.
